Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
PCOS care benefits from new pharmacotherapy and lifestyle approaches with growing GLP-1 evidence. The session covers GLP-1 in PCOS (the rapidly emerging evidence base), metformin in adolescents and pre-menarchal management, hirsutism management (cyproterone acetate, eflornithine, laser), fertility outcomes including ovulation induction, MASH coexistence and management, and the metabolic-reproductive interface. Discussion addresses PCOS in pregnancy and gestational diabetes risk, the comparison of inositol vs metformin vs GLP-1, the role of bariatric surgery in PCOS, mental-health considerations including depression and eating disorders, and equity in PCOS care across ethnicities with different presentations.
