Diabetes in Pregnancy

Pre-existing and gestational diabetes care has advanced with technology and the GLP-1 timing question. The session covers CGM in pregnancy (the new ATTAIN-MOMs trial), automated insulin delivery in T1D pregnancy (CONCEPTT extension), gestational diabetes screening (one-step vs two-step IADPSG debate), postpartum diabetes prevention, GLP-1 timing around pregnancy (washout requirements), and the LEAD-MOM gestational outcomes. Discussion addresses maternal-foetal outcomes with technology use, T2D in pregnancy management, hypertensive disorders and pre-eclampsia management, the comparison of insulin vs metformin in GDM, breastfeeding considerations on diabetes medications, and equity in diabetes-in-pregnancy care access.
