Diabetic Neuropathy

Diabetic neuropathy spans painful, autonomic and large-fibre forms with new pharmacotherapy emerging. The session covers painful diabetic neuropathy (duloxetine, pregabalin, the new sodium-channel blockers suzetrigine and vixotrigine), autonomic neuropathy management (gastroparesis, orthostatic hypotension, neurogenic bladder), foot ulcer prevention with multidisciplinary clinics, alpha-lipoic acid evidence, and emerging disease-modifying trials. Discussion addresses Charcot foot management, peripheral artery disease overlap, the role of glycemic control in neuropathy progression, telerehabilitation in diabetic foot care, vibration perception threshold and screening protocols, and the equity in diabetic foot care access.
