Health Coaching
Health coaching is increasingly evidence-based and reimbursable in obesity care. The session covers National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) certification, motivational interviewing techniques and outcomes, digital health-coaching apps (Noom, MyFitnessPal Premium, Calibrate), integration with pharmacotherapy in hybrid models, reimbursement models for behaviour-change support (Medicare DPP, employer-based), and behaviour-change frameworks (transtheoretical, social cognitive). Discussion addresses the coach-clinician integration model, AI-augmented coaching, peer health-coaching, the comparison of in-person vs digital coaching, the workforce-development pipeline, and the equity considerations in coaching access.
